Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg was in Berlin on Thursday, where he discussed democracy, technology and dialogue with citizens at a meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
Hundreds of students, mainly German, Norwegian and British, took part in the meeting. The starting point for the dialogue with the students was their visions for democracy in 2020 and cross-border education. What can countries and their citizens learn from one another? The meeting was held at the Chancellor’s Office.
Among the points Mr Stoltenberg emphasised were the way new technology is changing the way we communicate, and the importance of politicians showing humility and facilitating the development of new technological solutions.
The three heads of government also attended a working lunch to discuss current political issues, including the financial crisis in Europe.
