Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has given his comment after today's sentence in Oslo District Court against the terrorist who on 22 July 2011 attacked Oslo's Government Complex and a political youth camp at Utøya Island.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has this comment after today's sentence in Oslo District Court against the terrorist who on 22 July 2011 attacked Oslo's Government Complex and a political youth camp at Utøya Island:
"This court case has been Norwegian society’s opportunity to confront the perpetrator of the 22 July attacks. Given the seriousness of this case, it has been particularly important to ensure that the trial was carried out in accordance with the principles of the rule of law. The review of the horrific details of the case has been an ordeal for many, but was necessary in accordance with the principles of our legal system.
Due to the principle of the separation of powers, I will not comment on the judgment itself. Today we are all reminded of what really matters in this context: those who were killed or injured on 22 July, those who have lost their loved ones, and all those directly affected."
