Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg of Norway has today sent the following greeting to Ms. Michelle Bachelet, after her election Sunday as President of Chile:

"It is a great pleasure to congratulate you upon your convincing election as President of Chile.

This election will be noted world wide, also the fact that Chile now has elected a woman head of state. I am looking forward to working with you in the coming years, also in the framework of the SI .

I am certain that a great many people of Chilean origin living in Norway, and many Norwegians who have followed the political development in Chile for many years, are sending their best wishes to you today with your important new duties".
