The Office of the Prime Minister has for the period 1 June-1 October 2009 appointed Mr. Rune Bakervik (38), region secretary, Bergen, as acting political advisor to Minister of Defence Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen, during Ms. Ragnhild Mathisen’s leave of absence.

The Office of the Prime Minister has for the period 1 June-1 October 2009 appointed Mr. Rune Bakervik (38), region secretary, Bergen, as acting political advisor to Minister of Defence Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen, during Ms. Ragnhild Mathisen’s leave of absence.

Rune Bakervik comes from a post as region secretary at the Norwegian Union of Employees in Commerce and Offices. He has been employed by the union since 2001, and has previously worked at Hordaland County Municipality, the Bergensavisen and the City of Bergen. Bakervik has exams from the University of Bergen, the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and the University of Oslo. He is deputy leader of Bergen Labour Party, and has been member of the board of Hordaland Labour Party and the organisation committee of the Norwegian Labour Party.
