Ms. Åsa Elvik (39), Member of Storting, Bø in Vesterålen, has today been appointed state secretary to Minister of Research and Higher Education Tora Aasland from 13 March. Elvik will succeed Mr. Jens Revold, who from the same date has been honourably discharged from the office.
In today’s session of the Council of State the King has as appointed Ms. Åsa Elvik (39), Member of Storting, Bø in Vesterålen, as state secretary to Minister of Research and Higher Education Tora Aasland from 13 March. Elvik will succeed Mr. Jens Revold, who from the same date has been honourably discharged from the office as state secretary.
Åsa Elvik has represented the Socialist Left Party (SV) in the County of Nordland at the Storting (Parliament) since 2001. She was member of SV’s central board 2001-2007, member of Nordland County Council 1999-2001 and SV’s county secretary in Troms 1998-1999. Elvik taught at Sortland Upper Secondary School at Bø 1997-1998, and has studied psychology, educational science and social anthropology at the University of Tromsø.
