The Office of the Prime Minister has from 24 January 2011 appointed Ms. Liv Tørres (49), senior adviser, Oslo, as political adviser to Minister of Labour Hanne Bjurstrøm. She will succeed Mr. Jon Reidar Øyan, who will leave the post on 1 February 2011.

The Office of the Prime Minister has from 24 January 2011 appointed Ms. Liv Tørres (49), senior adviser, Oslo, as political adviser to Minister of Labour Hanne Bjurstrøm. She will succeed Mr. Jon Reidar Øyan, who will leave the post on 1 February 2011.

Liv Tørres comes from work as an independent consultant and a part-time a post as senior adviser at Norwegian People’s Aid. She has previously been head of the Norwegian People’s Aid’s international department, senior adviser at the Norwegian Research Council, associate professor of political science at the University of Oslo, held various posts at the Fafo Research Centre and been guest researcher at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. Tørres is Dr. Polit. from the University of Oslo (2000) and Cand. Polit. (1987) with political science, history and Italian language and literature as her subjects.
