– The ILO meeting in Oslo has shown that the way forward is through social dialogue and collective bargaining, says Norway’s Minister of Labour, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt. Huitfeldt has chaired the ILO meeting in Oslo 8-11 April.

Jobs, growth and social justice have been at the front of the discussions at the meeting in Oslo.
– There has to be a balance between macroeconomic policies and investment in the real economy in order to create jobs, says Huitfeldt.
– The meeting has been a success and I believe the Norwegian priorities and solutions to the crisis is reflected in the conclusions from the meeting – “The Oslo Declaration”, says the Minister of Labour.

ILO’s 9th European Regional Meeting brings together government, worker and employer representatives from 42 European and Central Asian member States. The meeting ended in Oslo today.
