The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration has rejected an application for asylum from Mr. Edward Joseph Snowden.
The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration has rejected an application for asylum from Mr. Edward Joseph Snowden. The application was forwarded at the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow. According to the Norwegian Immigration Act, only refugees in the realm or at the Norwegian border have the right to asylum in Norway. The Directorate of Immigration has therefore rejected the application on formal basis.
The Ministry of Justice finds no important reasons of national or foreign policy interest to intervene.
