In connection with the national memorial ceremony for the 22 July attacks, the bereaved and survivors will be given an opportunity to visit Utøya.
In connection with the national memorial ceremony for the 22 July attacks, the bereaved and survivors will be given an opportunity to visit Utøya.
The bereaved will be offered the option to visit the island on Friday 19 August, whereas survivors will be given the same possibility on Saturday 20 August.
- In doing this, we wish to give the bereaved and survivors the opportunity to visit Utøya within a professional and justifiable framework, says Minister of Justice and the Police Knut Storberget.
The Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB) is responsible for the visits, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Care Services and the Directorate of Health.
The island has not yet been released by the police. The press are not admitted to these events. Information on when it will be possible for the press to visit Utøya will be given by The Police Directorate at a later time.
