Martin Skancke is an independent adviser whose previous appointments include that of Director General at the Office of the Prime Minister of Norway and in the Ministry of Finance. He has a strong international reputation as an adviser on matters such as strategy development and the organisation of state investment funds, including through the IMF.
Elroy Dimson is Emeritus Professor of Finance at London Business School and Visiting Professor at Cambridge University, and the author of articles on topics such as responsible investment and active ownership. He has chaired the Strategy Council for the GPFG several times, most recently in 2013 when the Council examined the Fund's strategy for responsible investment practice.
Professor Michael Hoel is an economist at the Economic Institute, University of Oslo. He has broad knowledge of environmental and resource economics and has received much recognition for his climate research.
Laura Starks is a finance professor at the University of Texas. Her main field is within institutional investments and corporate governance, but she has also worked with more quantitative and financially oriented research areas. Starks was a member of the 2013 Strategy Council.
Gro Nystuen is Senior Partner at International Law and Policy Institute (ILPI) and former chair of the Council of Ethics for the GPFG. Nystuen was also a member of the Graver-committee, which proposed the original ethical guidelines for the GPFG. Nystuen's previous appointments include positions in the Ministry for foreign affairs and at the University of Oslo.
Magdalena Kettis's previous positions include those of Head of Ownership Risk and Head of Social and Environmental Issues at Norges Bank. She is now Research Director at Global Child Forum in Stockholm, focusing on children's rights. She holds a PhD in International Political Economy from the University of Stockholm.
