The number of applications from foreign nationals is growing rapidly. The government proposes to strengthen the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) by NOK 20 million compared to the consolidated budget in 2015.
– In light of the number of cases being
processed by the UDI, it is important to strengthen the procedural capacity to
prevent people without clarified status to reside in Norway. It is also
important to prevent persons who have committed criminal acts from remaining in
the country, says Mr. Anders Anundsen, Minister of Justice
and Public Security.
