Norway’s readmission agreement with Pakistan came into force on 1 May 2019. The agreement facilitates orderly return of Pakistani nationals without legal stay in Norway.
– Return of persons without legal stay in Norway is a priority for the Government. It is important to have good and practical arrangements for cooperation on return with Pakistani authorities. That the agreement now enters into effect is an important step in our cooperation with Pakistan, says the Minister of Justice and Immigration Jøran Kallmyr.
The agreement with Pakistan was signed in January 2017. In addition to the orderly return of Pakistani nationals without legal stay in Norway, the agreement includes time limits for the assessment of readmission requests and means of evidence regarding nationality.
