The Minister of Culture Widvey candidate for WADAs Executive Committee

The Council of Europe has appointed the Minister of Culture Thorhild Widvey as the European authorities’ candidate for the World Anti Doping Agency (WADAs) Executive Committee from January 1 2015.
The formal nomination took place at the WADAs Foundation Board on November 16 2014.
WADAs executive committee has 12 members; five from the authorities (one from each continent) and five from the sport sector in addition to the president and the vice- president from respectively from the sport sector and from the authorities.
- I am very engaged in matters relevant to the sport’s reputation and integrity as well as the work against doping and the efforts to keep all athletes clean. Through this board membership my aim is to give Norway and Europe an important voice in matters relevant to the WADAs world wide anti- doping work explains the Minister of Culture, Thorhild Widvey.
Norway has not previously had such an important task within WADA.
- It is my opinion that the time has now come for Norway to contribute and I am looking forward to get down to the work says Thorhild Widvey.
