Thursday November 13th the Norwegian Minister of Agriculture and Food will give a presentation on 'Forests And Bioeconomy' - future steps' at a seminar hosted by the European Forest Institute (EFI) at the European Parliament.
Thursday November 13th the Norwegian Minister of Agriculture and Food will give a presentation on 'Forests And Bioeconomy' - future steps' at a seminar hosted by the European Forest Institute (EFI) at the European Parliament.
EFI has conducted a study, co-sponsored by the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, on the European forestry sector - 'Future of the Forest Based Sector'. In her presentation, Minister Listhaug will describe the challenges facing the forestry sector in Norway, focusing on the opportunities a developing bioeconomy affords the forestry industry.
The same day, Minister Listhaug will meet the new EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Phil Hogan, making Listhaug the first Norwegian government minister to meet with a member of the new Commission. Hogan and Listhaug will discuss agricultural policy and relations between Norway and the EU with regards to trade, food safety as well as competitiveness in the food supply chain.
Minister Listhaug will also meet with representatives of organizations in the food supply chain for a discussion of the work with best trade practices in the food supply chain in Europe.
