Prime Minister Erna Solberg had a telephone conversation today with her British counterpart, Theresa May. The topics they discussed included Brexit and post-Brexit bilateral relations between Norway and the UK.
‘It is too early to draw any conclusions as to what form the UK’s relationship with the EU will take in the future. We agreed that we would keep in close contact in the time ahead, to ensure that we find effective solutions, both at the bilateral level and in relation to the internal market. It is important for us to safeguard Norway’s interests in this process,’ said Ms Solberg.
The two prime ministers also agreed to continue the close cooperation between Norway and the UK in the area of defence and security policy, and in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
