Prime Minister Solberg in Sri Lanka

On 12 and 13 August, Prime Minister Erna Solberg will have meetings with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Leader of the Opposition Rajavarothiam Sampanthan from the Tamil National Alliance. These meetings takes place after a private visit by Ms Solberg to Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister Solberg will also hold a lecture on the Sustainable Development Goals at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, and visit a fishing harbour in the south of the country, in connection with Norway’s fisheries cooperation with Sri Lanka.
The purpose of the meetings is to further consolidate the close relations between Sri Lanka and Norway through political dialogue, development-oriented cooperation and exchange of expertise, business cooperation, and support for the current Government’s policies of reform and reconciliation.
