Meeting with prime ministers of Iceland and Liechtenstein

In addition to a meeting in which all three prime ministers participated, Prime Minister Erna Solberg held bilateral meetings with the other two prime ministers. The topics they discussed included the EEA Agreement, the new European Commission’s ambitions on climate change and the labour market, and future relations with the UK. The previous time the three prime ministers met was at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the EEA Agreement during the EU summit in March 2019.

‘The EEA Agreement is the mainstay of our cooperation, and we all agree that the Agreement is crucial for promoting sustainable welfare-based societies. In our discussions, I emphasised the importance of international cooperation. We discussed a range of issues, including climate change, that no single country can address alone – challenges that we can only tackle by working together,’ Ms Solberg said.
