High North Programme – call for applications 2014

‘The Government’s goal is for Norway to be a leader in the field of knowledge and education in the High North. This new call for applications is a good opportunity for Norwegian institutions to start higher education collaboration with internationally leading institutions in strategically important countries,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.

Norwegian higher education institutions can now apply for funding under the High North Programme for projects in collaboration with leading institutions in Canada, Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the US. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is cooperating with the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education on the High North Programme, which started in autumn 2013. After the first call for applications, funding was allocated to 13 projects. The Ministry has now increased funding for the programme by NOK 8 million, bringing the total framework for the period 2013–18 to NOK 53 million.
