‘Paris has again been hit by horrifying terrorist attacks. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the whole nation,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.
Paris was hit by several terrorist attacks on Friday night. At least 128 people lost their lives in the attacks, according to the French prosecuting authorities. Around 250 have been injured, 100 of them critically.
‘Norway condemns the terrorist attacks in the strongest possible terms. We support the French authorities in their efforts to find out who is behind the attacks, and to hold the perpetrators accountable.
‘The terrorists’ loathsome objective was to hurt as many innocent people as possible. This wasn’t just an attack on Paris and the French people, but an attack on us all. Amidst this terrible tragedy, it is moving to see the solidarity that is spreading among the French people – in Paris and throughout the country, as well as the support being shown by the rest of the world. The terrorists’ aim is to frighten us. They will not succeed. We are standing together to fight extremism and terrorism,’ said Mr Brende.
