‘I would like to express our solidarity with the United Kingdom following the shocking nerve agent attack in Salisbury. All use of such nerve agents is forbidden under the Chemical Weapons Convention. This attack is a breach of international law and is completely unacceptable. Those responsible must be held accountable,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide.
'Norway has full confidence in the investigation being carried out in the UK and in the UK Government's assessment. I urge Russia to answer the UK's questions relating to the investigation,' said Ms Eriksen Søreide.
Norway will maintain close contact with the UK authorities, and with allies and close European partners, through both bilateral and multilateral channels.
