‘I am deeply concerned by the dangerous deterioration in relations between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack on 14 February. Norway urges the parties to show restraint to prevent an escalation of the situation, and to resume bilateral talks to find a peaceful solution to the protracted conflict,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide.
Norway has condemned in the strongest possible terms the 14 February attack on Indian security forces in Pulwama, Kashmir, which the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for.
‘Norway urges Pakistan to take the necessary steps to combat all forms of terrorism and prevent terrorist activity from its territory,’ said Ms Eriksen Søreide.
