Norway condemnes the attacks on Idlib

Norway is deeply concerned about the dramatic escalation in Idlib.
The offensive by the Syrian regime and its supporters are causing unacceptable humanitarian suffering. Norway condemns the attacks. The fighting must cease, humanitarian organisations must be given unhindered access.
Norway last week announced an early allocation of NOK 77 million for The Syria Cross Border Humanitarian Fund. A durable ceasefire and a political solution is essential to end suffering of civilians.
The North Atlantic Council today held Article 4 consultations at Turkey’s request. Norway and other allies expressed their condolences and solidarity with Turkey after 33 Turkish soldiers were killed in a Syrian air strike. Norway also underlined how important it is that all parties now show restraint in the use of military power. The diplomatic efforts must be strengthened to obtain an immediate and durable ceasefire
