Today Norway presented its position paper on the European Green Deal: A European Green Deal Norwegian perspectives and contributions. The paper was presented in a webinar held with European ambassadors to Norway.
Norway has technology and expertise that is vital for Europe’s green transition. Norway aims to strengthen its cooperation with the EU and Europe to ensure the transition to a modern and competitive low-carbon economy.
The European Green Deal was launched by the European Commission in 2019. It is both a growth strategy and a cross-sectoral plan to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent in the world by 2050.
The Norwegian position paper is based on the European Commission’s communication on the Green Deal and lists Norway’s position on the different areas under the Green Deal.
