‘Once again, France has been hit by a brutal and shocking attack. Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected and their families. Norway stands together with France in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.
One person is confirmed to have been killed and several have been injured in the attack on a gas factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in France.
At the beginning of June, Norway hosted the European Conference on
Countering Violent Extremism, which brought together representatives of European governments and local authorities in Oslo.
‘Today’s events are a brutal reminder of the importance of efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism. In this work, increased exchange of information and cooperation across borders is crucial, in Europe too,’ said Mr Brende.
