‘I condemn the attack on a bus in Jerusalem yesterday. My sympathy goes to all the victims and to their families and loved ones,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.
According to the Israeli authorities, an explosive device went off on a bus in the south of Jerusalem during the rush hour on Monday afternoon, causing a severe fire. More than 20 people were injured, two of them critically. Nobody has claimed responsibility yet, but Hamas and other militant Palestinian factions have praised the attack.
‘There can be no justification for this terrorist attack on innocent bus passengers. Violence of this kind also undermines the Palestinian cause and our attempts to support the Palestinians and help them to build a better life. I condemn all calls for, and glorification of, the use of violence against civilians,’ Mr Brende said.
