On 3 May 2016 the Government of Norway signed the agreements with the EU on the EEA and Norway Grants for the 2014-2021 funding period.
The objectives of the Grants are to contribute to the reduction of social and economic disparities in Europe and to the strengthening of ties and cooperation between Norway and the beneficiary states.
Since 2004, the Grants have been split in two separate funding schemes: one solely financed by Norway (Norway Grants) and one financed together with Iceland and Liechtenstein (EEA Grants).
