Norway has assisted in the evacuation of over 1 100 people from Kabul over the past few days. The evacuation operation at the Kabul airport has now been concluded. Unfortunately, there are still some people wishing to leave Afghanistan who we were unable to help.
There is no longer any Norwegian diplomatic presence in Kabul. The Norwegian Embassy in Kabul has been closed temporarily, and is being administered from Oslo.
It is therefore not possible for us to assist Norwegians in Afghanistan directly. The closest Norwegian diplomatic mission is the Embassy in Islamabad. The Foreign Service Response Centre in Oslo can be contacted at 247@mfa.no.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to provide information to people who are still in Afghanistan and are registered in the travel information portal reiseregistrering.no. We are in the process of identifying other means of evacuating people, but this could take some time. We urge anyone who is not yet registered in reiseregistrering.no to do so as soon as possible.
