Astrid Bergmål was State Secretary for the Minister of Justice and Public Security from October 14 2021. She has worked for the Enterprise Federation of Norway (Virke) since 2018. Before that she was a Political Adviser in the Norwegian Labour Party’s parliamentary party group.

From 2011–2012, she was a Political Adviser in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.  She was a Deputy Member of Parliament in the period 2001–2005. Bergmål is a qualified lawyer and has specialised in European Union law.
