Mette Gundersen (Labour Party) became State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport on 14th October 2021.
Gundersen was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture 2005–2007. She was deputy mayor in Kristiansand 2007–2011 and has been a representative on Kristiansand City Council since 1999. She was Deputy Representative to the Storting for Vest-Agder 2001–2005. Gundersen has held a number of board positions and positions of trust. Among other things, she is a member of the Governing Board of KS, the Council of Europe's Municipal Congress and the EFTA forum for local and regional elected representatives. She is a former member of, among others, the Labour Party Congress and the Broadcasting Council. Gundersen is a graduate of Agder University College (political science), Volda University College (media studies and journalism) and the Business Academy.
