Greater and more long-term support to Ukraine

Broad political agreement has been reached on expanding and increasing the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine, which was established to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom. There is agreement between the political parties to extend the support programme for a further three years, and to provide an allocation of minimum of NOK 35 billion to Ukraine next year.

Royal Norwegian Navy Sailor Accounted for from World War II (Sigurd Arvid Nilsen)

The Norwegian War Graves Service announced today that Ordinary Seaman Sigurd Arvid Nilsen, 23, killed during World War 2, was accounted for on 14 November, 2024. An official headstone will be erected on his grave in Flateyri, Iceland.

The French philosopher and theologian Jean-Luc Marion has been invited to give the first Fosse Lecture, and the German translator Hinrich Schmidt-Henkel has been awarded the Fosse Prize for Translators in 2025. The Fosse Prize will be among the largest of its kind in the world.
