On 1 January 1991, the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs (of 1990) had its name changed to the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs, listed here as the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs (of 1991).
On 17 October 2005, responsibility for kindergarten affairs were transferred to the minister responsible for the Ministry of Education and Research (of 2002). On 1 January 2006, these affairs were transferred to the Ministry of Education and Research (of 2002). This now had its name in Norwegian changed to «Kunnskapsdepartementet» ("Ministry of Knowledge"), listed here as the Ministry of Education and Research (of 2006). The Ministry of Children and Family Affairs (of 1991) now had its name changed to the Ministry of Children and Equality, listed here as the Ministry of Children and Equality (of 2006).
