The Ministry of Pay and Prices was established on 1 August 1955. Affairs concerning prices and state employment and wages were transferred from the Ministry of Finance and Customs.
On 8 May 1972, the Ministry of Pay and Prices was abolished. Its affairs were transferred to the Ministry Finance and Customs and the new Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs.
