Christopher Hornsrud’s Goverment was appointed by King Haakon VII in a session of the Council of State on 27 January 1928, effective as of the same day at 12 noon. It succeded Ivar Lykke’s Government, after general elections on 17 October 1927 had not rendered sufficient support for this Government in the Storting.
In a session of the Council of State on 10 February 1928, Christopher Hornsrud's Government handed in its resignation, after a vote of no confidence in the Storting on its government declaration. Permission to leave was granted by king Haakon VII in a session of the Council of State on 14 February 1928, effective as of 15 February 1928 at 12 noon. At the same time, Johan L. Mowinckel's Second Government was appointed, effective as of the same point of time.
