Domestic plugs and sockets for use in homes and similar applications shall be presumed to meet the safety objectives in Annex I if they meet the safety level of the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee's standard 502 (NEK 502) and its relevant annexes. This shall be documented in form of a test report from a body within the EEA with competence to carry out conformity assessments in the field. When using other technical specifications, the corresponding level of safety must be documented.
For other electrical equipment it shall be possible to provide documentation that makes it possible to assess whether the equipment complies with Annex I.
Anyone who offers the consumer electrical installation equipment intended to be part of a fixed electrical installation, must ensure that the consumer is informed that the installation equipment can only be installed by a registered installation company.
When offering a consumer electrical installation material intended to be part of a permanent electrical installation to the consumer, the provider shall ensure that it is stated that the material can only be installed by a registered installation company. The following text must be used: "Can only be installed by a registered installation company". The information must be given in a clear manner and placed in a visible place on or in the immediate vicinity of the material.
