Statement from the Minister of International Development, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.
'I welcome the important decision by the Sudanese authorities to keep the Adre border crossing open three more months. This border crossing is an important lifeline for the Sudanese civilian population. It allows food, medicines, and other lifesaving aid to reach thousands of Sudanese in dire need,' said Minister of International Development Anne Beathe Kristiansen Tvinnereim.
'The Adre crossing should be kept open to humanitarian actors for as long as needed. The unacceptable suffering of the Sudanese people must stop. All parties must allow humanitarian aid to pass, grant necessary permissions and protect humanitarian staff,' said Tvinnereim.
