New office as deputy secretary
to the Government
In today’s session of the Council of State, the King has
appointed Mr. Arne Spildo (53), Oslo, to the new office as deputy
secretary to the Government, at the Office of the Prime Minister.
On behalf of the Secretary to the Government, the Deputy Secretary
shall assist in advising the Prime Minister in the following-up of
meetings of the Government and the Council of State. The Deputy
Secretary to the Government shall also develop further systems of
securing good preparation of matters to be discussed in the
Government and in the Council of State.
”Secretary to the Government” has since 16 November 2001 been the new title for the office as secretary general at the Office of the Prime Minister.
Mr. Spildo is a candidatus juris from the University of Bergen in 1977. He has been director general of the department of economic affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister since 1992.
Secretary to the Government is Ms. Nina Frisak (51), a candidatus juris and former Supreme Court judge who was director general of the department of administrative affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister 1995-2000.
