Foreign Minister Jan Petersen condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Istanbul on Saturday, in which a large number of people have been reported to be killed or injured.

"I was profoundly shocked to hear of the bombing attacks on two synagogues in Istanbul," said Mr Petersen, and added that his thoughts are with the bereaved families and those who were injured.

"I deeply deplore terrorism in any form. Attacks like this are totally reprehensible. This tragedy again underlines the importance of our standing united in the fight against international terrorism," said the Foreign Minister.
