Terrorist threat to Norwegian interests
After a consolidated evaluation, the threat is not considered to be substantially increased within Norway, according to the Minister of Justice, Odd Einar Dørum. The Norwegian police have, however, intensified their alertness around certain potential targets. Existing security measures surrounding some foreign embassies in Norway will remain in place.
Norwegian embassies are asked to be suitably alert to the expressed threat, which seems to be primarily aimed at Norwegian interests abroad. Norwegian authorities are in contact with the authorities of the host countries regarding the increased threat to Norwegian interests. In addition, Norwegian foreign missions are requested to inform Norwegian citizens and Norwegian business interests about the threat.
Norwegian authorities are assessing the situation continuously in cooperation with our closely allied countries.
