Minister of International Development to visit the parties to the Sudan peace negotiations
On Saturday 6 March, Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson will visit the parties to the Sudan negotiations, which are going on in Naivasha, Kenya, at their invitation.
While she is there, she will have talks with the Kenyan leaders of the negotiations, and with the parties’ chief negotiators, First Vice President Ali Osman Taha and SPLM leader John Garang. She will also have consultations with representatives of the international community on the peace negotiations.
The fourth direct round of negotiations between the parties, as represented by Mr Taha and Mr Garang, has been going on since 17 February.
