New State Secretaries
In today’s session of the Council of State, the King has appointed the following state secretaries: Mr. Norvald Mo (46), head of division, Oslo, and Ms. Hege Marie Norheim (32), senior advisor, Asker - at the Office of the Prime Minister; Mr. Olav Soleng (52), college director, Narvik - in the Ministry of Trade and Industry; Ms. Reidun Wallevik (46), deputy county governor, Skien - in the Ministry of Labour and Government Administration; Mr. Vidar Ovesen (33), deputy assistant director general, Oslo - in the Ministry of Finance; Mr. Roger Ingebrigtsen (33), news editor, Tromsø - in the Ministry of Cultural Affairs; Mr. Tore Hagebakken (38), mayor, Gjøvik - in the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, social affairs; Ms. Sigrun Møgedal (56), director, Oslo – in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, development cooperation (from 27 Mach 2000); Mr. Stein Lier-Hansen (45), director, Trondheim - in the Ministry of the Environment; Mr. Sveinung Valle (41), farmer, Lindås - in the Ministry of Agriculture; Mr. Øystein Mæland (39), chief physician, Oslo - in the Ministry of Justice and the Police; and Ms. Randi Øverland (47), principal, Kristiansand - in the Ministry of Education, Research and Church Affairs (from 27 March 2000).
Jens Stoltenberg’s Government was appointed on 17 March 2000. It is a minority government representing the Labour Party. The list of state secretaries is as follows:
