Odd Roger Enoksen appointed Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy
Odd Roger Enoksen was today appointed Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, representing the Centre Party in the coalist government headed by Mr. Jens Stoltenberg.
Mr. Enoksen comes from Andøy, in the northern part of Norway. He was Minister of Local Government and Regional Development from March 1999 until March 2000.
Mr. Enoksen has been Member of Parliament for the Nordland Centre Party since 1993 and a deputy member since 1989. During this period he has been a member of different Parliament Standing Committees, including the Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment, the Enlarged Foreign Affairs Committee, the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs and the Standing Committee on Defence. He has chaired the Standing Committee on Business and Industry.
Odd Roger Enoksen is an agronomist. Before he was appointed Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Mr. Enoksen was Managing Director of the Andøya Rocket Range. Odd Roger Enoksen has worked as a farmer, manager in Enoksen Torvprodukter and manager in Andøytorv. He has held a number of political positions and honorary posts both for the Centre Party and various organisations.
