The main objective of the project is to examine the understanding of religious co-existence within the various religious communities of Syria. The research will largely be based on empirical data, and the project aims to provide an overview for diplomatic actors involved in inter-religious dialogue. The project will primarily assess attitudes towards ‘the other’, and look into the driving forces behind today’s projects of inter-religious dialogue in Syria. The project will be affiliated with the PRIO programme “The Missing Peace: Conflict Resolution and Peace Building in the Middle East”.
