Åpningsinnlegg under Nupis Agenda-konferanse «Europa mot en ny politisk og økonomisk epoke"

Utenriksministeren sa bl.a. følgende: 

I will challenge two assumptions.

• First, I will challenge the assumption that there is a crisis in European integration. One could argue rather to the contrary: That European integration has never been more needed, more relevant, more adequate than now. 
• We are ahead of a leap forward in European integration. A leap that is not going to follow the traditional recipe, one that we have seen during the post-war years.  
• The second hypothesis is that Norway’s relationship with Europe is complex. It is not. What we will see, in my view, is an even closer Norwegian link to this European integration process.
