Allow me to extend my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Italian Republic.

Norway and Italy enjoy excellent bilateral relations based on common values and objectives. We work together closely in the European Economic Area in which Italy is an important export market for Norway. Italian companies have a significant presence in Norway, notably in the petroleum sector. There is an excellent cooperation on the Arctic, in research and in business. Our two countries also cooperate and share common ground on a range of important issues in the UN and NATO.

I wish you every success in your new position. I look forward to working with you and hope that we will have a chance to meet in the near future.
