Gratulasjonsbrev til Kaja Kallas

Dear Ms Kallas,

I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your nomination as High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. 

I also wish to thank you for our excellent collaboration during your time as Prime Minister of Estonia.

The EU plays an important role in Norwegian foreign and security policy. At the core of our cooperation lies our shared values and our common commitment to a rules-based world order. These values and commitments must continue to guide us as we further develop the relations between us and continue to work together, both in Europe and globally.

The EU-Norway relationship has developed over the last years, including within foreign and security policy. The recent Security and Defence Partnership between the EU and Norway is a good example, which I look forward to seeing it be further developed during your mandate as High Representative. 

I wish you every success in your future efforts as High Representative. You can continue to count on the reliable support of Norway.
