Dear Mr Modi

I would like to convey my warmest congratulations on the results of the Indian general election.

I very much enjoyed my visit to New Delhi in January, and would like to thank you once again for the wonderful hospitality I was shown.

I greatly value the excellent relations and friendship between the governments and people of Norway and India, based on our shared commitment to promoting democracy, the rule of law and human rights and to embracing diversity.

In my capacity as Co-chair of the Group of SDG Advocates, I would like to thank you for your invaluable efforts and say how much I appreciate our important cooperation to reach the SDGs.

I look forward to continuing to strengthen the friendship and partnership between Norway and India, and to further developing our cooperation in our many fields of common interest.

I wish you every success in carrying out the important tasks that lie ahead.
