I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Norway and the United Kingdom enjoy excellent bilateral relations. We are long-standing allies and share a deep commitment to safeguarding our common security, and both our countries attach importance to promoting multilateralism and a rules-based international order.

Norway considers it vital to maintain as close and comprehensive a relationship with the UK as possible. I look forward to working with you as well as to discussing the further development of our bilateral relations and how best to address the many challenges we are all grappling with.

I wish you every success with the important tasks that lie ahead.
