The work related to electrical plants and equipment
Main requirements
Electrical equipment shall be in such a condition that in use it does not present a danger to life, health or material values.
The Act provides a legal basis for the provision of detailed regulations on the design, use, assembly and labelling of electrical equipment. It may be ordered that such equipment should be approved before it can be offered, marketed or used in Norway.
The regulatory authority may require that the person offering, marketing, manufacturing, introducing or marketing an electrical product, presents a representative sample of the product or conducts investigations that are necessary to assess the product's properties or effects. The Authority may itself carry out such investigations or undertake the necessary sampling and control of the products. The costs are on the manufacturer or importer, unless the Ministry decides that the costs will be covered in whole or in part by the public sector.
