Summary and the road ahead

The Government´s policy platform flags our ambitions for the Norwegian health industry. These ambitions are specified in more detail in this roadmap. Measures to develop the Norwegian health industry and following up the roadmap are the responsibility of several ministries. We wish to see a close and constructive dialogue with industry, the policy instrument system and the health and care sector about how well measures and other framework conditions respond to their needs.

In that regard we are establishing an arena for a strategic dialogue between the authorities and the health industry. The purpose of such an arena is for relevant ministries and the health industry to be able to discuss the roadmap´s prioritised areas and other framework conditions. It is meant to facilitate a better mutual understanding of the challenges we face and contribute to a comprehensive follow-up of the roadmap. At the same time, it is of course important that the stakeholders interact well with each other, for example through the HealthCare21 Advisory Board.

There is a great potential for industrial development in health and life sciences. The development of products and services is important when we evolve future health services, as well as understand both current and future challenges and crises. At the same time, the health industry can provide new and beneficial knowledge-based jobs across Norway, as well as contribute to value creation in the Norwegian economy. It is therefore important for all of us that we succeed in this area.
