Corruption poses a serious threat to democracy, rule of law, human rights and national security. Corruption can hinder economic development, distort competition and severely undermine the trust in individuals and institutions. Preventing and combating corruption requires efforts from the authorities, the business community and private individuals. The government is working to prevent corruption in all sectors, nationally and internationally.

In this white paper, the Government reports on the current status and challenges and propose measures that can strengthen joint efforts to prevent and combat economic crime in Norway.
Guidelines for Norway’s international efforts to prevent and combat corruption
The guidelines aims to ensure that Norway adopts an integrated approach to international anti-corruption efforts and provides guidance on how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norad and the embassies can promote anti-corruption.
